Slowly the days darken once more

Late august and undeniably the days are getting shorter. The dark of night seems deeper. The crickets more earnest. The evenings remind the threat of frost to a body accustom to the damp still heat that has defined this summer. Everything is ripening but much of nature has surpassed her full bloom glory now. Time to hold my arms out wide and embrace the abundance of these gifts.
